I See Angels Everywhere...

Back to back parties!! Last week was the Red & White party and this week is the White Party. It was organised by a group called the International Student Party. I love going to these parties coz it gives me the chance to meet international students here in Adelaide.

Sumi decided to go to this party! Yay!!! We met up with Sharan at the party. She brought her friend Suneeta along. Another Malaysian. Looks like we're building our Malaysian circle. The party was awesome. They had this black light thingy so everyone who wore white was glowing!

You can't have a party without cam-whoring session can you?

Credits to the photographer..

Wait, we're not ready!!

Love these guys..

The Show Is In Town!!

This was my first time going to the Royal Adelaide Show. Apparently it's a big thing here. Schools get 1 day off so that they can go for the show. And some work places give their employees a day off so that they can take their kids to the show.

I went there with my housemate Sumi. Basically it's like our Pesta, but much more organised and CLEANER!!! I didn't go on any of the rides though. It's pretty much the same thing everywhere. But what really caught my eye were the exhibitions. There was one fashion show by a New Zealand designer, Jenny Gillies. OMG her clothes are so beautiful. The theme is fruits, veges and flowers. We weren't allowed to take pics of the show, but I did manage to find some pics from the net. Amazing costumes, funky music and cheeky dance moves made the show amazing!

After the show, we checked out other exhibitions. There was one exhibition on olden day clothing. Pretty cool.

And OMG there was this huge exhibition room just selling Showbags. I felt like a kid in a candy store!! I went around hunting for Elmo. Found him, but he was darn expensive. So i decided to get Stewie and Smurfette instead. :)

That's not the half of it..
Elmo!!!
Stewie!!
At exactly 9pm, Sumi and I went out to watch the fireworks display. It was so prrrrty. Went on for bout 10 minutes.

After the show we went for some Chinese food. That pretty much sums up my day.

The Red & White Party

I went for the Red & White party today. It was organised by a group called the Adelaide Internationals. They organise parties and events for international students in Adelaide. One of my good friends, Arthur was part of the team that organised today's party and he gave me a free ticket (totally sweet of him).

A lot of drama prior and during the party. Lets just say I'm glad I have such good friends that stick by me no matter what. :) 2 good things came out of today's party.

1. I met two lovely people, Felix and Sharan.

Felix is from Germany. He's already back home sadly

Sharan is from Malaysia. I finally found my hangout kaki.

2. My picture came out in the local paper!!! I guess partying has its perks.

They got my name wrong!!! lol
That's Arthur by the way. Awesome guy. We share the same bday!!
And that's Hommer. Finally able to meet up with him after all the drama prior to the party.
Despite the drama, overall it was a pretty awesome party. Had lotsa fun with them.

I TuRnEd 21!!!

It's my 21st birthday today!! I know I'm supposed to go out party, get drunk and do all those crazy things, but I decided to have a quiet birthday with close ones.

I was Skyping with my parents on 18th night, and exactly 12a.m. on my birthday, my lovely housemates gave me a huge surprise. They brought out a cake and started singing happy birthday to me. I wasn't expecting that at all! And my parents were online at that time, so you can say I blew out the candles in their presence.. sort of.. :)

On the night of my birthday, 3 of my friends and I went to a Thai Restaurant. The decor was amazing. Felt like carrying those artefacts home. Oh yeah, and my housemate, Sumi, surprised me with another cake!

A few days after my birthday, I went to my uncle's house to celebrate my birthday with my aussie family. I love them so much. They crack me up all the time! They gave me lotsa presents and another cake. ♥

So in total, I celebrated my birthday 3 times. I have to say, this is the most memorable birthday I've ever had. Not to mention I conquered "Free Bird" on Guitar Hero, easy and medium levels. Who needs booze when you have lovely friends and family right?

Wonder how next year is gonna be like...hmm...

My First Party in Adelaide..

Hey guys.. if you've read my previous posts, you'd probably know that I've been bummed out about not being able to go out and have fun. Well, I finally realised that I should just stop sulking and do something about it. So, I came across this event page on Facebook (total life saver) about a party for international students. And I said hey, what the hell, may as well go check it out since one of my friends is going for it. And so I did.

I'm not much of a party girl, eventhough some you are going like "pffft... yeah right".. seriously.. I don't party unless I've nothing better to do or when I just wanna go chill after handing in a 1000 word assignment. Anyway, this is my first party in Adelaide. Was pretty pumped up about it.

The party was awesome. Met some of my Uni friends there and lotsa other international students. The one thing I like about Aussie parties is that strictly No Smoking! Yay!!!! I can breathe without feeling like my years have been cut by half. It was pretty cool when all a sudden there was a dance-off and a limbo.. lol

Some random guys I met at the party..
I had lotsa fun and I decided I'm gonna go for more of these International Student parties..

Dinner & Karaoke Night

Ok, I know you guys were wondering why I've been A.W.O.L. for so long. Don't worry, I'm alive and kicking. Just been pretty busy with Uni and well mostly Uni. So, as requested by my awesome friends, I've decided to start blogging again ( thanks for your support. You know who you are :) )

Despite the title, I didn't sing. As some of you might be scratching your heads and asking yourselves "Does she sing?  I didn't know that she sings". I DON'T sing. Well maybe in the shower I do. The Dinner and Karaoke Night was organised by the Malaysian Association here in Adelaide. Yeah.. I didn't know they had one either. lol. It was a last minute decision to go, but I'm really glad I went. Met lotsa lovely people at the dinner. Not to mention awesome food and entertainment.

When I say Karaoke Night, I didn't mean your drunk uncle singing at weddings. These people are pretty good singers I must say. I sure enjoyed the good show. And the photographers made me feel like I'm a celebrity for a day.

I really hope to go to more of these parties. Especially those organised by the Malaysian Association. Makes me proud to be a Malaysian ( a little bit cheesy.. I know I know..). It's good to see people not forget their heritage and culture despite where they live.

Here are some pictures from the dinner:

Good Friday

Hey guys... So its Good Friday and we decided to go the Victor Harbour. Mona's friend came over from Melbourne so we thought we would just show him around Adelaide.

The view in Victor Harbour was amazing. We saw a cute lil pony at the side of the beach. Felt so sorry for it. Just felt like kidnapping it and setting it free. We also saw 2 camels on the beach. Never in my life I would have imagined seeing camels on the beach.

Once we reached Granite Island, we decided to sit down for a cup of coffee and snacks. I ordered the Irish Cream Cheesecake. It was orgasmic!! On the way back from Granite Island, we decided to check out the fairy penguins. They are the smallest species of penguins in the world.

After Victor Harbour, we headed to Port Elliot. As luck would have it, when we wanted to head to McLaren Vale, the car wouldn't start. We were fortunate enough to meet some nice people to help us out. They invited us to their house for a cup of tea. Aussie people are awesome!!!

Upon reaching Adelaide we decided to eat some spicy Indian food for dinner...yum!!!
